The Sherman Town Board met in regular
session Tuesday, January 2, 2007, 7:30 p.m. at the
Members
present: Robin Berg, Sandee Sutton, Gerry
Karpen, Cheryl Swenson and Ann Thiel.
Others
present: Neil Winterton, Dwana Eslinger.
Minutes of the December 5, 2006,
meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer’s report was read and
approved.
CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID
Minnehaha Community Water Corp, water,
$22.50; Prairie Publications, November meeting minutes and Resolution, $64.09; Xcel
Energy, electricity, $229.53; Jonas Tree Service, tree removal, $400.00; SECOG,
membership dues, $167.00; Palisades Propane, propane, $281.32; Robin Berg, Christmas
party supplies, $43.78; Ann Thiel, certified letter, $4.64.
OLD BUSINESS

Centennial
Sign. The Board approved placement of a
Sherman Centennial Sign on the east side of the southernmost building on Bill
Benson’s Summer Avenue property. The
cost will be approximately $180.00.

Tree
removal. Winterton requested
clarification of the city’s policy on tree removal. The Board explained that if a tree falls on a
city street, the city is responsible for removing it.
NEW BUSINESS

Ethanol
Plant Tour. A tour of the ethanol plant

Water
regulator. Karpen had Minnehaha
Community Water Corporation replace the water regulator for the Town Hall.

site. Thiel is developing a web site for

Salaries. A motion was made by Karpen,
seconded by Sutton, to approve salaries for 2007 as follows:
President: $15.00 per meeting plus $20.00 per year
Trustees: $15.00 per meeting
Town
Clerk: $480.00 per year
Treasurer: $300.00 per year
General
labor: $9.00 per hour
5. Board
vacancy. Karpen’s
term expires in May. Notice of Vacancy will
be published. Nominating petitions may
be obtained from the Town Clerk (594-6268).
Petition circulation may begin no earlier than January 26.
ORDINANCES
An Executive Meeting for the purpose
of revising the City Ordinances will be held on January 9, 2007.
Motion by Karpen to
adjourn, second by Sutton.
The next regular meeting will be February
6, 2007, at 7:30 p.m.
