The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, August 2, 2016 

at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall. 

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg. 

Ellis called the meeting to order.

Others present: Grant Duncan, Garrick Moritz and Ellen Karpen.

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson. 

ROUTINE BUSINESS:

Minutes of the July 5, 2016 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

OLD BUSINESS:

Playground Equipment, Park meeting Aug, 14, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at the Sherman Town Hall. We will be going over where the residents would like the new park to go, Strom Park or North Park. All residents welcome.

Annual budget was looked over, Motion by; Karpen, for the first reading of the proposed Ordinance 2017-1 annual budget, with modifications Second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried.

Risk Mitigation/Tabled

Chickens, Motion by; Ellis to allow Bergs and Suttons to each keep and maintain up to 4 chickens as long as they are kept behind a privacy fence. This is a correction to the minutes published for the October 6th, 2015 meeting. Second by; Karpen.  Vote of 3 yes motion carried. 

Open floor to Old Business: Added to the Agenda, Motion by; Ellis to donate $50.00 to Garretson Food Pantry, Second by; Karpen. 

Added to the Agenda, Motion by; Ellis to give a big Thank You to Loren Konda for all his help on July 30th, $50.00 gift card at Brandon Steak house, Second by; Karpen. 

NEW BUSINESS: 

Motion by; Karpen, to transfer the net proceeds from the recent auction of surplus property from the General fund to the Park fund to be used in the purchase of new playground equipment. Funds may also be transferred from the Park fund to the General fund to pay bills associated with the fund raiser held on July 30th. Second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried.

Motion by; Karpen to submit grant application resolution, second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried. 

Sherman picnic date set for September 11th 2016 at Strom Park, 12:30 to 2:00, Ellis will pick up hamburger at GFC, pot luck. All residents welcome.
