The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, December 6, 2016 

at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall. 

Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.

Ellis called the meeting to order.

Others present: Sandra Sutton, Robert Askren, Bob and Linda Askren,

Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson. 

ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the November 1, 2016 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.

The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.   

CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light $271.54, park light $34.10, town hall lights $18.81; Garretson Gazette, Oct. min. $22.21, Nov. min. SDML, annual dues $81.62; DBA Braun Farms, 16 gal of mosquito spraying $392.00, 8x spraying $640.00; Vogt, Brown, Merry & Hammer, $381.77; Gerry Karpen, zoning salary $100.00, 6 meetings $150.00;  Bill Benson, 7 meetings $175.00; Lee Ellis, 6 meetings $180.00; Robin Berg, salary $250.00, stuff for signs $27.73; Cheryl Swenson, salary $250.00;

OLD BUSINESS: Thank you to everyone who helped and assisted with our very successful
fundraising campaign last spring and summer! Our LWCF grant application with the state of South Dakota has been turned down. We are now able to have the committee
resume meetings to plan and purchase "OUR NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT"

Motion by; Karpen, to approve Bullets Alcoholic Beverage License, Second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried.

(110 Zeliff Ave.) A letter has been set to property owners

Sherman Christmas Party, Sat. Dec, 31st 2016. At Sherman Town Hall 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 'all are welcome'.

NEW BUSINESS: Proposed Revision of Sherman Municipal Ordinances Adopted in 2007, 1st reading, Revision of Sherman Municipal Ordinances 2016, Said paragraph 4.0305 is hereby amended to remove the restriction of the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays provided the ‘on sale’ establishment meets all other requirements set forth in 4.0305. 

Motion by; Karpen, for automatic bank withdrawal on Water, Second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried.
