The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, November 1, 2016
at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Hall.
Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.
Ellis called the meeting to order.
Others present: Bob & Linda Askren, Kara Duncan, Garrick and Leif Moritz.
Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson.
ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the October 4, 2016 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.
The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, Second by; Benson.
CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light $270.48, park light $30.45, town hall lights $18.77; Minnehaha Community Water, Sep. water $30.00 Garretson Gazette, Sept. min. $23.12, Ordinance (#2016-1) $75.60; Bill Benson, 1x mowing $40.00; Clay Bonte, 1x mowing $35.00; Robin Berg, 1x mowing $30.00; Jesse James, 12.3 gal of gas $25.47; Cheryl Swenson, picnic food (GFC) $53.36;
OLD BUSINESS: Park fundraising campaign update: It was reported that over $38,500 has been raised for the new park equipment. Additional gifts and grants totaling $1,170 have been received in the last month. The town is now awaiting a decision on the LWCF grant application before they move forward on the actual purchase of the new equipment. The decision on that grant could come as late as next April.
