The Sherman Town Board met in regular session Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Members present: Lee Ellis, Gerry Karpen, Bill Benson, Cheryl Swenson and Robin Berg.
Others present: Darrin & Mataya Trower, Linda & Ken Askren.
Ellis called the meeting to order.
Approval of the Agenda: Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson.
ROUTINE BUSINESS: Minutes of the April 3, 2018 meeting was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson.
The treasurer’s report was approved as read, Motion by; Karpen, second by; Benson.
CLAIMS APPROVED TO BE PAID: Xcel Energy, street light, $261.31, park light $27.98, town hall lights $46.75; Minnehaha Community Water, April $30.00; Garretson Gazette, March min. $20.38 , notice of equalization $9.13, annual report for 2017 $189.00, equalization meeting $23.42; Palisades Propane, 81.4 gals $118.76; Minnehaha County Treasurer, back property tax for Block 7, Lot 7, 110 Zeliff Ave. Sherman S.D. $241.51;Gerry Karpen, 4 safety cones $87.88, 4 barricades $133.16; Robin Berg, copies for the 2017 Revenue and Expenditures book also copies for the Sherman clean-up flyers $22.49;
OLD
BUSINESS: There was discussion to put up a new Street light
at 1st St. by the water way. Board did not think it is needed.
Open floor to Old Business: Bill Benson has requested a conditional use to
place an 18 year old Double Wide Manufactured Home for on residential property
he owns.
Date
was set for a meeting, to
consider his request on Friday, June 11th at 6:30 PM at the Sherman Town
Hall.
Berg stated she would
need to look over the 2014 revised Sherman Zoning Regulations.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Pre-Disaster Hazard
adoption Resolution 2018-1. Karpen made a motion, to approve the Pre-Disaster
Hazard adoption 2018-1 Second by; Benson. With a vote of 3 yes motion carried.
Add to the agenda,
Mosquito Control (grant and cost) Karpen summated a West Nile Virus (WNV) grant application. Berg asked if we
can get a monthly bill, not a onetime bill in January, Ellis will have him get
a bill in before December’s meeting.
Bullet Beverage License, June 5, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. at Sherman Town hall.
Darrin Trower was Sworn in for a one year term as a Sherman S.D. Trustee.
Karpen nominated Ellis for President, Second by; Trower. With a vote of 2 yes.
